What is Brookline Families with Food Allergies all about?
This Website was developed in response to a growing need among families in Brookline, Massachusetts, to share information, tips, stories, and strategies in dealing with food allergies.
Many of us may already be members of The Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network (www.foodallergy.org) and/or The Asthma and Allergy Foundation (www.asthmaandallergies.org). These organizations—in addition to our physicians’ counsel, of course—no doubt provide most of our information. There is, however, opportunity to share at a local level. For example, do you know of a good bakery in the area? Did you have any strategies for entering kindergarten? Do you have any good tips for traveling or dining out? Any good restaurants?
Dealing with food allergies on an individual basis can at times be overwhelming. Our goal is to form a small community within the larger whole. The more information we can share, the more lessons we can learn, the easier it can be. We welcome comments from parents, students, everyone.

Playdate Connection
Looking to have playdates? Would you like to network with parents like yourself? We are starting an email list of families interested in getting together for playdates.
How does it work? You send BroFFA.org an email with your name and preferred contact info (email or phone), along with your child's age and avoided allergens. When an email arrives with a child of similar age and allergens, you will receive an email copy with that family's contact info. You will then have the opportunity to contact them if you choose to do so. Easy! Fun! And an opportunity to develop a special and important relationship for you and your child.
